Every tree that drops its leaves in the fall time has an affinity to represent the power of rescue. Rescue by plan is all around us. For the tree to salvage its being, dropping its leaves on purpose is its motive for rescuing its life. We not only need to shed off some undesirable leaves of our own, but we must recognize the power we can gain in permitting our lives to be rescued as we tumble down the cliff of existence.
We may attempt to develop a resolution or two each new year. We do so partially to feel good about cleaning up a few dirty leaves. But to be rescued when rescue is needed is a permission that empowers the receiver. But if the receiver refuses to grasp the rope of the rescue line, the belief in refusing to accept help is a belief that may decline his chance for life worthwhile.
Refusing a helping hand is a sign of insecurity. The one who refuses the helping hand mistakenly considers the refusal a noble and strong sign.
Some borrow money, well before they would accept a helping hand, as a means for developing security. The habit of helping yourself is the only prison that follows us outside of the bars.
It is of poor taste to shun those who have come to our aid.
Many expect a miracle when they have fallen to the deepest depths. Yet the miracles may have been lingering, from a friendship that warned of the steps.
Hey mate, sure sorry about the fall. I did not see those loose rocks. Did you? But if one of us could get out of the way, maybe we could fix this dilemma.
