ACTION: (Antonym) Nonworking.
To be resolute is a form of action. To procrastinate is also a form of action. Action is the inclusion of everything we do or do not do. Action is sleeping on a sofa in front of the television, while the television is on. It still becomes some form of action. Sleeping is action. Study is action. Thinking is action.
Jumping off a four-foot cliff is still jumping off a cliff. But jumping off of a four thousand foot cliff requires a great deal more courageousness in action than the four-foot version. Action therefore is an active process and is measured by the degree of difficulty that is required to perform it. Getting ready to get ready is action. Doing an act that requires greater degrees of preparation is recognized as being more active. Measure your actions by their degree of difficulty.
Action can also be measured by the quickness to prepare for completing a more challenging task at hand. The faster one moves towards doing the challenging task, the greater the measurement of the action. That is exactly why leaders love to hire quick thinkers. They produce more action.
When did procrastination help a famous leader become admired? Not. Instead, we have heard about the great acts they performed, when others were silent. Think often but move quickly.
When friends are faced with challenging times and experiences, it is their actions, not words, which become the true character of the relationships they build. If the words they choose are vicious, the relationships will wither. If the actions they take are virtuous, their friendships will strengthen.
Above all, remain patient when you decide to go into action. This is a delicate art to manage. Learn how to manage this most awe-inspiring power, action. Become active, even when you are silent.
